About Us

We are a function of the Students’ Union with the aim to provide support and advice to any of you looking to start up or join a club or society. We have a wide range of societies currently up and running from traditional sports such as Football and Rugby to non-traditional sports such as Cheerleading and Mountaineering. We also offer religious and cultural based societies such as Islamic, African Caribbean, Christian Union. Coming to a University which is somewhere new, where you may not know many people can be a daunting prospect, joining a Sports Team or Society is a good way to meet new people as well as being part of something you feel passionate about. If there isn’t a society here that appeals to you, by getting support from ten other students you can set this society up and run it your way. Running your own club won’t be easy, but with the support from Sports and Societies, ultimately it will be rewarding and you will gain significant skills and experience which you can utilise in the future.
If you would like more information on the Sports and Societies that are available or if you would like to start your own please contact us in the Sports and Societies office in the Students Union Building, Priory Street.
