► Students' Union Elections

Democracy is right at the heart of our SU and every position is elected, ensuring that Coventry University Students’ Union is run by students, for students.

During the election periods you will see loads of candidates rushing around campus trying to get your vote. Try to speak to as many as possible to decide who you want to be representing you, the decision you make may affect your University experience. You can also look on www.cusu.org at the candidates’ manifestos or attend ‘Question Time’ where you can find out what they will do if elected.

All voting is done online through the CU-Portal so it is simple, easy and accessible to all. When voting for certain positions, you will be asked if you ‘self define’ in to a certain group – please be honest with this, as CUSU believe that minority groups have a right to make the decision on who represents them.

Representing a section of students is extremely rewarding and a great way to make the changes in the Union. It’s a way to make sure the Union is being as inclusive and accessible as possible, and also a way to make a whole group of new friends and enhance your CV!
