Hey! I’m Dez, and as your Vice President Communications it is my job to keep you up to date with what’s going on in your Students’ Union. Along with the rest of the Sabbatical team, I’m here to represent your voice and improve your Coventry University experience.

I’m the editor of all CUSU media; including The Source newspaper, the CUSU website, Source Radio and the CUSU Facebook groups. The media is a crucial part of the Students’ Union in terms of running campaigns and keeping you informed with the latest from the University and SU. I’m always looking for people to contribute; if you want to know more, just get in touch.

Except for when I’m in them, I’m also in charge of the most important events in the CUSU calendar – elections! This is when you get to choose who will be representing you. I’d advise everyone to get involved; it opens up a world of opportunities you don’t know exist yet.

Another part of my role is organising and coordinating the All Student Meeting, which is taking place on Thursday 19 November. This is the main annual Students’ Union gathering and is where you decide the direction of the union for the forthcoming year. Look out for posters detailing the event.

So PICK UP a copy of The Source from a red news stand, LOG ON to this website weekly, LISTEN IN at www.sourceradio.co.uk or BECOME A FAN by going to www.cusu.org/fan! It doesn’t matter how you do it, just make sure you’re clued-up about your union.
