Migrating to Live @ EDU
All students who are NOT currently using the new Outlook Live Email Service (live@EDU) can now migrate over. Details on how to do this can be found @ Coventry University Portal Home. The University will shortly switch accounts so that emails go to live@EDU instead of @Coventry. You MUST move to the new service by 31st March.
To access email accounts, students will now log on @ https://www.outlook.com with a username format (for email only) of: <studentusername>@uni.coventry.ac.uk
When you register to use ICT facilities at Coventry University, your username and password will be synchronised with Outlook Live (Live@EDU). The first time you access your Outlook Live mailbox you will be asked to set up answers to Secret Questions as a secure mechanism in case you forget your mailbox password. To keep the account for life, you must login at least once a year or lose all emails.
Passwords cannot contain the following: spaces; non-English characters; part of the username or be less than 8 or more than 16 characters in length.
You can change your live@EDU account so that it passes all University emails onto your personal email address, if preferred. You can also transfer any emails in your Coventry University mailbox to the live@EDU service.
If you would like help with migration, or more information on the new Live@EDU service, please download the document below which contains detailed diagrams of how to migrate, attend one of the demonstrations (advertised on the CU portal) or go to: www.outlook.com
