► Becoming a Halls Rep

How can I become a Halls Rep?

If you're interested in becoming a Halls Rep or want to know how it will benefit you, read on...

Halls Reps are elected during the halls induction meetings which take place around Freshers' Week at the start of each academic year. The bigger the halls, the more Halls Reps it will need to represent students.

At the induction meetings a representative from the Students' Union delivers a speech on how the Halls Rep system works and the role of a Halls Rep.

The Students' Union representative will ask any residents interested in becoming a Rep to step forward. If there are more candidates than there are positions available, an election will take place.

Each candidate gives a short speech on why they would like to take on the role, after which the residents will vote. The successful candidates then provide the Students' Union representative with their name and contact details and voila - you have your Halls Reps!
