Halls Rep training takes place each autumn term and gives Halls Reps the opportunity to explore the following areas:

  • The variety of issues Reps may deal with in their role
  • The accountability of Halls Reps
  • Useful skills within the role of a Halls Rep
  • The structure of the Halls Rep system
  • How and when to refer students onto other individuals or departments
  • How to deal with student issues
  • Communication skills
  • Meeting skills
  • NEW THIS YEAR!! Information and briefing on Safer Neighbourhoods Groups (SNG's) for Reps to take an active part in the Community
  • NEW THIS YEAR!! Students' Union Advice Centre (SUAC) talk

The training sessions take about 2 hours and are repeated over a few weeks to maximise accessibility for Reps. The new sections are to allow reps to become more involved with the Union and the community.
