So you want to be a CUSU Student Rep?
Both Course and Halls Reps are supported by the University and the Students’ Union. (As a Student Rep your job is to listen to your fellow students in issues that they may have with either their academic course or their halls of residence). We need to hear your views on everything to do with University so we can make improve your student experience!
Statement on Student Representatives:
• Course Reps are a joint responsibility of the Students’ Union and University.
• Student reps have the right to express their views and best interests of students within University regulations and procedures.
• As a Student Rep the University and Students’ Union respect your views
• Students have the right to attend all committees open to them as Course Reps; the raise issues and vote.
• Student Reps have the right to raise issues that they or a course mate have, with the relevant member of staff without being in a committee meeting.
• The Students’ Union supports Course Reps 100% by offering them guidance, training and by facilitating communications.
• All Student Reps have the right to gain the support of the Students’ Union elected officers and staff members.
• Being a Student Rep should not affect your University studies.
• Student Reps should attend all committees nominated onto.
• Student Reps need to represent ALL students on their Course.
