Varsity and Roll Out

Sports and Societies put on various events but the two main ones are Varsity, where we take on the University of Warwick at a series of sporting events, and Roll Out which showcases the amazing societies that CUSU has.

 

Varsity - One Team, One Dream

Coventry and Warwick universities battle it out from January until March to crowned Coventry's Varsity Champion and it is the highlight of the sporting calendar for many students. For years now Warwick has beaten Coventry but each year Coventry has crept a little bit closer to stealing the Varsity crown.

The score for 2012 finished Warwick 38 - Coventry 32. With Coventry only missing out on this years win by 3 fixtures. All teams tried so hard, making this year the closest yet. Hopefully 2013 will be our year.

Roll Out
Roll Out, first held last year (10/11). Roll out was developed after feedback from societies that they wanted an oppurtunity during the year to give all CUSU societies the chance toshowcase their field of interest to all other students and the University. Smilar to the oppurtunity that Varsity offers to sports clubs.

Roll Out this year took place othis year on Wednesday 18 January 2012 being led on by VP Student Activities Ali Burr and the societies committee. Roll Out was held in the corridor leading to Square One to attract students in the Hub and passing by the Hub. Roll Out saw just over 20 different societies in attendance to showcase their activities and attract new members to the societies.

Roll Out was a greater success than in 09/10 but the committee hope to again increase the event for 12/13 to give Roll Out wider coverage across the University.
