► Support and Advice

The Adult Education Service offers a wide range of courses for adults in more than 50 locations in the city.  Each year, thousands of people take the opportunity to learn a new skill, get a qualification, or find out more about something they are interested in.  Courses are taught by friendly, qualified tutors.
Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau serves a population of over 300,000 at its various sites. During a 12 month period, it deals with over 20,000 enquiries ranging from basic consumer enquiries through to the more complex areas of debt and welfare benefits. They provide information on Debt, Benefits, Housing, Family, Employment, Public Law and many other general areas of advice.
Coventry Carers Centre
The Coventry Carers’ Centre opened in July 1996, as the only “one-stop” centre for carers. Carers are people who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who, due to ill health or disability, cannot manage without this support at home. Carers can be any age or sex, from all backgrounds and communities.
CRASAC (Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre)
CRASAC provides support to victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse. The counselling service supports women and girls, and the crisis support and telephone helpline is for male and female victims, 11 years and over as well as families, friends and other professionals.
  
Faith Communities 4 Action
The organisation was set up in 2006 in partnership with other voluntary organisations to help provide services to the Black Ethnic Minority Communities. They provide skills and learning activities for people of all ages and support new community organisations in the development of their projects.

FolesHillfields Vision Project
Foleshillfields Vision Project are an organisation who supports people in Foleshill, Hillfields and the surrounding areas in Coventry to build bridges between communities by promoting community inclusion and social inclusion in a fun, positive and friendly way. They put on events to bring people together, encouraging them to get to know each other beyond barriers which were created by different culture, belief, faith and ethnicity.
Independent Advocacy represents the interests of people who may find it difficult to be heard or speak out for themselves. These can include older people, those with disabilities and those with mental health problems. With the support of trained staff, they provide an advocacy and appointee service.

Independent Appeals Panel
The Independent Appeals Panel hears appeals by parents who have not obtained a place at the school of their choice for their child. The panel’s decisions can be challenged through the Ombudsman or the courts. They need a diverse range of people to sit in these appeals. Occasionally panels are also required to consider school exclusion appeals.

Refugee Centre
The centre provides essential information and practical help to thousands of refugees and asylum seekers in the Coventry area, originating from over 87 countries. Many of the clients only speak limited English so the centre offers help dealing with the appropriate agencies, organisations and service providers.
St Peter's Centre aims to support the local diverse community by providing a venue for people to meet, share experiences and celebrate events.  Funding is raised by profiding conference facilities to local and national organisations.
Coventry Victim Support offer a service of emotional assistance backed up with practical help and information to victims of crime as well as helping their friends and family cope with difficult experiences they may face.
Willenhall Advice Centre
The Centre offers free advice, information and representation to people living in south-east Coventry. Help is available with Welfare Benefits, Debt and other social welfare matters. They aim to alleviate deprivation within the area through advocating for clients and representation in court.
Witness Service
Coventry Witness Service provides support and advice to Victims and Witnesses required to attend court to give evidence. They support both Prosecution and Defence witnesses and can provide pre-court support as well as support in court.
