► Benefits of Volunteering

At CUSU Volunteering and Employability, we believe there to be loads of reasons why you should volunteer. So instead of us telling you why you should volunteer, we have taken some figures from a recent timebank survey of empolyer's attitudes to volunteering, we think it says more than we can!

  • 94% of employers believe volunteering activities improve skills.

  • 94% of employees who volunteered developed their careers by improving their salary or being promoted.

  • 73% of employers would employ a candidate with volunteering experience over one without.

Benefits of volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to develop key transferable skills, enhance your CV, gain relevant work experience and test out potential career paths.

We will reward your efforts with a Certificate of Recognition and V Awards. Please note that to claim your certificates, you must return your volunteering time sheet to the Volunteering and Employability office.
