Barnardos
Barnardos believes in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behavior. They believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. They will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child. They do this because they believe that every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to fulfill their potential.

Black Boys Can
A community based project established to empower, educate and assist in the self-actualisation of African-Caribbean, African and Mixed Heritage Boys and to counteract underachievement in mainstream education.

Canley Family Centre
The centre provides opportunities for individuals and families living in the area to be able to take part in social, recreational and educational activities. They encourage individuals and groups to define their problems, take action to solve them, encouraging self-reliance and community self-help.

Childline
ChildLine is the free helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call 0800 1111 to talk about any problem, there are always counsellors available to listen and help.

City of Coventry Scout County
The Scout Association promotes the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communites. The Scouts provide an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.

Coventry Boys Club
Coventry Boys Club is a fully non-profit making charity that exists for the youth of Coventry. The club is situated in the City Centre and operates every night of the week. The centre offers a huge range of activities to engage young people of both sexes.

 

Coventry Foyer
The Coventry Foyer accommodate 63 young people aged 16-24yrs and work with them to link in with training, education and employment opportunities both in the foyer and elsewhere. They teach residents life skills, so they can move onto independent accommodation. The Coventry Foyer is one of the largest schemes of its type in the country. Since 2004 The Coventry Foyer has supported over 500 young people to live independently and to move into their own accommodation.

Coventry Young Carers
Coventry Young Carers work with young carers aged between 5-18yrs who care for their parents/relatives who have a disability, life threatening condition or drugs/alcohol problems. They support them with advice and practical information about being a carer. They organise trips and activities for the children to give them a break from caring and arrange another carer to look after the children’s relative.

Coventry Youth Service
Coventry Youth Services recruit and train mentors to provide one-to-one support to young people aged 10-18 with their personal development and life choices. Some of the young people are youth offenders while others have been referred by their schools because of low self esteem.

Fresh Faces Fresh Voices
School Governers One Stop Shop (SGOSS) is a charity that recruits volunteers to become governors in schools across England.
SGOSS are running a new and exciting project: ‘Fresh Voice Fresh faces’ aimed at strengthening the diversity of schools’ governing bodies by encouraging more young people to volunteer.

Friendship Project
Children ages 6- 16 who would benefit from an ‘older friend’ are referred to the Friendship Project by social services. Many of the children they support lack the friendship of a grandparent, uncle, aunt or older friend, they may feel isolated or rejected by their family or society.

Girlguiding UK
Girlguiding UK is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in this country. It has about 600,000 members who take part in an enormous range of activities from outdoor challenges to learning new skills, international travel to getting involved in community action projects.

Hub 119 Ltd
Hub 119 Ltd support children & young people who endure multiple disadvantages. The project is based in an area where a catalogue of disadvantages are of serious concern such as high crime, the availability of drugs & alcohol to children & young people, teenage pregnancy, environmental issues and little or no involvement from parents & carers.

Kids
KIDS is a charity established 30 years ago, who work with disabled children and young people from the age of 0-25. All the children and young people have a diagnosed disability such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and various learning difficulties. KIDS work in close association with the parents and carers, ensuring the service is meeting the requirements of the families.

Local Baha’i Community
The Junior Youth Empowerment Programme is a moral, intellectual and social programme. This programme has been recognised around the world and is open to all junior youth (aged 11-15) from all backgrounds, the groups are held within the neighbourhoods of Coventry.

Playing For Success
Playing for Success is a scheme that runs after school every day of the week during school term-time. Children are referred to the scheme by their school to help them to develop a positive attitude towards education.

Rathbone
Rathbone is national organisation who offers various programmes delivering vocational and social training. Rathbone gives young people who are experiencing significant disadvantages the right opportunities to learn and achieve.

University Nursery
Coventry University Nursery provides a Day Nursery registered by Ofsted for staff and students children.

Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise inspires and equips young people to learn and succeed through enterprise. They believe that all young people should have the
opportunity to gain personal experience of how business works,
understand the role it plays in providing employment and creating prosperity, and be inspired to improve their own prospects.
