A Brief History of Volunteering in Schools
Due to Aimhigher funding between the periods of August 2004 – July 2011 the volunteering programme has expanded in a number of ways.
We now offer a variety of different opportunities to both schools and student volunteers and in 2011 we recruited 275 student volunteers, placing them in 64 local primary, secondary and special educational needs schools – the 2010/11 academic year was our most successful ever.
