Black History Month takes place throughout October each year in the UK. It marks a month of awareness and celebration of Black history, culture, and community, and seeks to empower and represent BME peoples throughout the UK.

At Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) we are extremely proud to be celebrating Black History Month once again, and to have this opportunity to celebrate the diverse and multicultural student body represented here.

This year the BAME community and AC Society are collaborating to bring an amazing line up of events to recognise and celebrate Black History as well as the achievements of our students, staff, alumni, and the wider community of the Midlands. Throughout the month we’re running a huge number of events, including: Panel Discussions, Fashion Show, Film Night, and a Gala Evening. We will also have physical displays in and around The Hub highlighting figures of importance from Black history, culture, politics, and African heritage.
