Black History Month 2019

Black History Month takes place throughout October each year in the UK. It marks a month of awareness and celebration of Black history, culture, and community, and seeks to empower and represent BME peoples throughout the UK.

At Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) we are extremely proud to be celebrating Black History Month once again, and to have this opportunity to celebrate the diverse and multicultural student body represented here.

This year our theme is 'Changing The Narrative' and we are bringing you an amazing line up of events to recognise and celebrate Black History, Culture and looking forward to the future of the Black Community. Throughout the month we’re running a huge number of events, including: Panel Discussions, Open Mic Nights, Comedy Nights, Cultural Nighs and so much more. We will also have physical displays in and around The Hub highlighting figures of importance from Black history, culture, politics, and African heritage.
