A group of students with a passion for the outdoors, adventure and excitement If you love the outdoors or just want to try something new, be sure to come along and meet us!

A club full of walkers, climbers, boulderers, cavers, ghyll scramblers and adventure-seekers. If you love the outdoors or just want to try something new, be sure to come along and meet us!

Coventry University Mountaineering Society is perfect for those seeking adventure and fun outdoor activities across the UK. We are a group of Cov Uni students full of energy and with a knack for climbing things be it a wall or up the stairs at Ivy House on a Monday night for our weekly social.

Each week we meet for a bouldering session at Ballroom Climbing Centre in Coventry city centre before taking to Ivy House for our social. We also journey to Warwick Uni’s Bear Rock Climbing Centre on Wednesday afternoons for indoor climbing and practice of rope skills, perfect for developing skills necessary to start climbing outdoors!

However, the main attraction of our society is the weekend trips across the UK for a variety of activities, such as outdoor climbing, hiking, winter mountaineering, walking, caving… we love to get out there and try everything so if there is anything you wanted to try we could look into running the activity on one of our trips. We frequently venture out to the Peak District or further afield such as the Lake District, North Wales and Yorkshire. Even if you don’t want to climb, and no matter what your ability or experience, we have something fun for everyone, our trips offer a chance to have an ultimate outdoor experience and make some of the best memories of your time at university.
