Campaigns & Activism

Throughout the year we run campaigns for positive change. Sometimes that change is at a University, local, or national level and comes from our collective efforts to change policies or conditions. Sometimes that change comes from empowering students with the tools and support they need to make changes in their own lives.

If you'd like to work on campaigns, or even lead them, we have student roles available, or to support our work make sure you subscribe to the Community & Inclusion mailing list to receive our latest updates.

Wellbeing and Safety

Throughout the year we run campaigns and provide support for your physical and mental wellbeing. From Exam Stress to Sexual Consent, Safe Nights Out to Housing Contract Checks.

To hear about the latest campaigns and support make sure you sign up to the Community & Inclusion Mailing List.

Sustainability

Our Sustainability work goes beyond just litter picks and canal clean-ups. Sustainability is as much about reducing inequality and poverty as it is about climate change and protecting the environment.

As an organisation we're committed to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and we need students to work on raising awareness amongst the student body, holding the University (and Union!) to account, and leading and supporting on campaigns and events.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Communities

Students of all sexualities, gender identities, ethnicities, nationalities, faiths, and backgrounds study at Coventry. CUSU connects these communities and pushes for positive change through celebration, activism and support.

We have spaces for these students to voice concerns, share ideas, and suggest policy to make Coventry University a better place for all.

We have action groups for: BAME students, Disabled students, LGBTQ+ students, International Students, Students of Faith, Self-supporting students, Students with Responsibilities, and Women students (including all students who identify as Women).

If you identify as a member of one of these groups or consider yourself an ally you can select those groups on your profile to receive more information.

We have teams of students working across Coventry to create a safer, more inclusive campus for all students.

We have a range of roles for students to promote wellbeing, raise awareness and create change, build links with the local community, and make the student experience better for all.
