Student Volunteering Week

#1000Hours

Student Volunteering Week takes place each year to celebrate student volunteers across the country and encourage as many people as possible to get into volunteering.

This year it took place from 11th - 15th February.  We set you a challenge at the start of the week to see if we could get pledges of 1,000 volunteering hours and we reached it in three days, hours pledged in total reached 1963 which is amazing!  Thank you to everyone who helped us to acheive this.

We organised lots of activities during the SVW from Make A Difference Days to a Volunteering Fair and lots more besides.

What is Student Volunteering Week? (SVW)

Student Volunteering Week is a nation-wide event that takes place each year to celebrate student volunteers across the country and encourage as many people as possible to get into volunteering.

Volunteering has many benefits for both yourself and your local community. Our volunteers at CUSU give help and support to local organisations, achieving things that just wouldn’t be possible without them, all while developing transferable skills that will really make their CVs stand out.

Activities organised throughout the week involved our one-off Make a Difference Days (MADDs)micro-volunteering and much more!
