With the first Saturday of April nearly here, it means only one thing that Comedy Central Live is back for 6th April at Square One in Coventry City Centre. With a night of live stand up from award winning comedians it is always a great night and 6th April is no different. Doors open at 7:30pm, and tickets are still available.
The first act announced is Morgan Rees, a Welsh stand-up comedian known for his sharp one liners and hilarious short stories. He has appeared at Edinburgh Fringe festival three times, so is a well-practiced comedian. In 2017 he was a finalist on BBC New Comedian of the year and 2nd runner up for So You Think You Are Funny 2017. He has been described as ‘Excellent’ by the Scotsman, and ‘A proven master of redirection’ by Chortle. Morgan Rees is going to be a comedic star in the future so do not miss the chance to see him now at Square One before he goes onto stadiums.
The second act announced is Kiran Morjaria, a young comedian who is also a junior doctor. He uses observation humour with the great stories of being a young junior doctor to create a boundless act. He has appeared at venues such as the Comedy Club, Glee and Manford’s Comedy Club and has been described by Chortle as having great delivery. They say laugher is the best medicine and after seeing Kiran I am sure you will agree.
The third act is Andrea Hubert a comedian who start performing 10 years ago in 2009. In 2011 she won New Act at Boom Tish and was a finalist at Leicester Square New Comedian of the year 2011. London is Funny have said she is ‘one to watch’, and is highly rated by many other comedians. In 2015 she took part in a spoof video of Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood, parodying the tax of female sanitary products. As well as comedy she is also an award winning writer and is currently writing shows with the makers of Peep Show. Andrea is a well-rounded comedy who will make your night.
The final act of the night is Mike Wilmot, a Canadian comedian. Mike started off as an actor appearing in various films and in the 90's he turned to comedy and became very popular in Canada and nationally, he is now very popular on the comedy circuit. He has won Best Male Stand up at the Canadian Comedy Awards and won Best Stand Up at Time Out Comedy Awards. As well as his comedy he has won an award for his acting in 'It's all Gone Pete Tong'. The Sunday Times have described him as ' A fast talking stand up whose close to the bone repitoire leaves the audience in a state of hilarity that most comedians can only dream of'. Mike is a fantastic addition to this already great line up, and should not be missed!
