About the event

Come and be transported back in time to the days of the Plantagenet kings and queens who ruled both England and parts of France.

On Saturday 26th October Archaedium presents a concert of music from the 12th to 14th centuries by English and French composers. Tunes that may have been heard in Medieval Coventry at the time the beautiful church of St John the Baptist, Fleet Street, was built by Queen Isabella.

£10 (£5) to include a glass of wine in the interval

Archaedium is a Coventry-based ensemble and was formed by wife team Mary and Catherine Mohan through a joint love of all things musical and historical.

Mary is the musical director, arranger tunes and player of pretty much any instrument she can get away with. She studied music at the University of Huddersfield and makes her living playing and teaching.

Catherine is Archaedium’s historical specialist, player of percussion and the harp. Catherine studied Archaeology at the University of Bournemouth and is never happier than when tapping out a catchy rhythm on her one of her many drums.

In 2019 Archaedium are excited to bring to you their new CD Music of the Plantagenets a musical tour of music from England and France spanning the 12th to the 14th centuries.
