Talbot House

A story in words and music full of humour, atmosphere and inspiration about the WWI haven and refuge.

During the Great War, Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium, just a few short miles behind the front line, became a haven for thousands of allied troops, regardless of rank. Run by a diminutive chaplain named Tubby Clayton, the house became a ‘home from home’ where troops enjoyed some home comforts and remembered the men that they really were.

Aimed at a family audience, this feelgood, heart-felt play gives a brief taste of the history of the house and with the aid of poetry and music from the Great War, the atmosphere that was felt by the troops who visited.
