We are THRILLED to have the incredible Darren Pritchard, leading a vogue dance workshop for Black History Month 2020.
Darren is a performer, choreographer, teacher and director. He's a celebrated Vogue performer, and the Mother of The House of Ghetto in Manchester.
He says 'Vogue is important to me, because it embraces my love of dance, my love of QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, and Indigenous People of Colour) culture and allows me to be me, and whoever else I want to be'
"Vogue” is a highly stylized form of dance created by Black and Latino LGBTQ communities. Between the 1960’s and 80’s New York drag competitions known as “balls” transformed from elaborate pageantry to “vogue” battles. You can learn more about Vogue, featuring Darren, by clicking here.
