About the event
We love celebrating our diversity here at CUSU. With our variety of cultural and faith societies and events, we are always looking for ways to celebrate different cultures. That’s why we are holding our Inter Faith Week from Monday 23rd– Friday 27th April which has been sponsored by NUS Activities. We want to celebrate and showcase the different faiths you hold therefore helping to educate each other on different ways of life. We’ve got a week packed full of activities, so you can share your faith with others or just come along to learn something new.
With something different happening every day, we’ve got something for everyone. Plus, we even want you to choose what film to be shown during our film night. Let us know what films you love that link to your own or another faith. We’re wanting to celebrate diversity and faith so get your submissions in! The last day to get your film submissions in is Friday 20th April. Click here to submit your film.
Monday 23rd April – Faith Fair, 11am – 1pm, The Hub. Join us in The Hub to learn more about different faiths, we’ll have a variety of local businesses, University chaplains and a load of freebies to hand out. It’s the perfect way to discover more about different faiths.
Tuesday 24th April – Film Screening,GEG31 from 5pm . You have picked what films you want to see so we will be showing Fiddler on The Roof, War Room, God’s Not Dead plus more! So you can pick your favourites on the day.
Tuesday 24th April - Free Food Available from The Krishna Consciousness Society
The Krishna Consciousness Society is shaking things up by teaming up with 'Food For All' to provide you with a FREE vegetarian lunch!
The Krishna Consciousness Society offers you the platform to evolve your mind through the dynamic philosophy found in Ancient Vedic Wisdom. We share knowledge that will enable you to empower your mind and we reveal cutting-edge lifestyle tools like meditation and mindfulness for modern day living. Food For All is a fantastic charity that distributes warm vegetarian/vegan meals to absolutely everybody outside Richard Crossman every Monday for FREE! Our collaboration with 'Food For All' is guided by our shared ethos of compassion towards those from all walks of life, as well as our aim to promote a dialogue about the most intriguing issues in life whilst connecting over a delicious meal!
Wednesday 25th April – Faith Societies Fair, 11am – 3pm, The Hub. We are proud to have a large variety of faith and cultural societies here at CUSU and they’re helping spread the love and teach everyone about their faiths. With activities to get involved with, new food to try and people to meet, this fair is perfect for anyone who wants to broaden their mind, plus you can get more information on joining any society.
Friday 27th April – Multi-Faith Celebration, Square One, 2pm - 4pm. This is our big event of the week, so don’t miss out. We’ll be holding an open mic event and providing a light lunch and entry into a raffle to win a hamper for everyone who attends. So, whether you want to get up and sing, recite poetry, talk about your experiences, or if you just want to take it easy and listen to what others have to say about faith, this relaxed event is for everyone. Let’s bring everyone together and celebrate our wonderful diversity.
It’s you, our students, that makes CUSU what it is, your diversity brings us all together so join us in helping us celebrate that.
