About the event

Super Sorters

Volunteering at Coventry Food and Clothes Bank.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.

A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.

  • Food Banks provide clients with three days’ worth of emergency food, along with other support beyond food to help them solve their crisis.
  • Clothes Bank provide a selection of good quality, clean, pre-loved seasonal clothes for men, women, children and babies who cannot afford to buy/replace clothing and bedding.

You could help in this vital work to ensure they

have the right food and clothes available at all times.

  • Weighing, sorting and storing donated food before it’s made into parcels for clients to collect
  • Sorting food to check that it’s in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need
  • Sorting donated clothes ready to be made into parcels.

Volunteering will be taking place every Wednesday until 21st March. You can attend as many sessions as you like.

Transport is provided to and from Coventry Food and Clothes Bank.
