Entry Categories

There are four entry categories:

  • Pop-up Exhibition
  • Social Media
  • Video
  • Enterprise Proposal

A student may enter any number of categories, though can submit at most one entry per category.

Multiple individuals or teams on a single course can choose to submit competing entries.

To be eligible, entrants must be a currently enrolled student at Coventry University or CU Group between the dates of 18th November 2019 and 4th February 2020.

Individual and Team Entries

  • Individual entry is permitted for all categories
  • Team entry is not permitted for Social Media (permitted for Popup, Video and Enterprise only)
  • Teams may contain a maximum of eight students
  • Team members must all be on the same course and mode of study (i.e. all undergraduate or all postgraduate
  • A student may be a member of at most one team per category, though they may be in multiple teams across different categories

Exhibitions will run on 4th February 2020 from 11am-3pm and must be set up, monitored, and packed down by the individual or team throughout that period.

8 x £1000 prizes are available: 1 prize per faculty for Coventry University Coventry and Coventry University London and 1 prize per campus for the CU Group.

Prize money will be paid directly to your course director who will liaise with you on spending the money in a course related way.

  • Entries must be received by 23:59 on 13th December 2019
  • Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis
  • Exhibition spaces will be provided at all campuses and individual spaces will be allocated by Students' Union staff. Your exhibition space may be in a different building to your school/faculty.
  • All popups are subject to approval following submission of a written outline
  • All popups will be subject to a risk assessment
  • If granted a space, you will be required to attend a briefing from the Students' Union prior to the exhibition
  • Students at Coventry University Coventry campus may be able to obtain funding for their exhibition materials from their faculty through a bidding process. Contact your course director for more details
  • You will be provided with a table unless you advise that it is not required
  • Filming and photography will take place at exhibitions and these media will be used by Coventry University Students' Union and Coventry University for promotional purposes

Social Media

Submission are open until 3rd February 2020. Posts will run between 27th January and 4th February 2020.

8 x £50 prizes are available (no restrictions by location).

  • Individual entries only, one submission per person
  • All content used in social media campaigns must comply with Data Protection Law, including GDPR. Consent forms must be provided for any individuals featured.
  • Entrants must ensure they own the rights to use any images/media used in the post
  • Posts will be shared on CUSU Twitter and Instagram channels during the campaign window
  • Posts should include a media element (image or video) and caption. When shared on CUSU channels they will also include your handle and #ThisIsCUSU #ILoveMyCourse

Video

Video submission must be received by 23:59 on 31st January 2020.

8 x £500 prizes are available: 1 prize per faculty for Coventry University Coventry and Coventry University London and 1 prize per campus for the CU Group.

Prize money will be paid directly to your course director who will liaise with you on spending the money in a course related way.

  • All content used in social media campaigns must comply with Data Protection Law, including GDPR. Consent forms must be provided for any individuals featured.
  • Entrants must ensure they own the rights to use any images/media used in the post
  • Maximum video length is 2 minutes

Enterprise Proposal

Enterprise proposals must be received by 23:59 on 13th January 2020.

5 x £1000 prizes are available: 1 prize per faculty for Coventry University Coventry and Coventry University London

  • Not open to CU Group. Entrants must be studying at Coventry University or Coventry University, London.
  • Proposals must relate to your course
  • 3000 word maximum (no minimum word count)
  • Entrants may be required to pitch their proposals to a panel of relevant industry, University and Students’ Union staff

General Terms

Any submission, photography or recording may be reused by Coventry University and Coventry University Students’ Union for promotional purposes.
