Write It Out ran from February to March 2022 and gave students the opportuninty to get both creative and self-reflective. Sessions covered poetry, creative writing and journaling, letting you guys explore your values, worries and beliefs. It was the chance to unburden yourselves of worries and learn more about who you are as a person and all came aboout from an idea by student Yolanda.

How did you decide on your project?

The reason I decided to start this project is because writing has always been a way for me to release my problems without actually having to talk to people and kind of block out the real world, so I wanted to share that with other people, hence why I started this project/club. I did have various ideas at first so choosing one single project to run was hard as I knew I wouldn’t be able to manage running more than one, so I chose the one that I thought would have the most impact.

What did you have to do to run the project?

In order to run this project, I had to figure out what resources I needed, the room I wanted to use, the date and time I would like it to run and whether or not I wanted any external help.

(Note: We got the wonderful Lyndsay Price in to deliver 5 workshops, covering poetry, journaling, and wellbeing)

What do you think were the benefits of doing this project?

I think the benefits of my project were that people found a place to de-stress and were able to meet new people. Running this project also benefited me as it helped me get into writing again, and also allowed me to kind of escape all the craziness that was going on in my life.
