As coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) continues to spread, we would like to explain how we are responding to the global health crisis. At the moment the risk of catching coronavirus remains low and we are continuing to monitor the overall situation.
However in light of recent cases being confirmed in the Coventry area, we want to reassure you that we're proactively monitoring this rapidly changing situation and keeping up to date with evolving reports and advice.
As part of this, our main priority is to put measures in place which will help prevent further spread to protect the health, welfare and safety of our staff, students and visitors.
As you would expect, we are putting contingency plans in place to manage any issues which may arise as the situation develops.
There is no cause for immediate concern, but it is important that we all prepare ourselves.
Things are likely to change over the next few days and weeks as we take steps to protect our community and develop contingency plans. As they do, we'll continue to provide you with regular information and support.
Within the MS Teams channel we have created an area to collate Coronavirus information, this can be found on All Staff announcements – General – Staff Health and Wellbeing – Coronavirus, this is the link Coronavirus Information and Advice for CUSU Staff .
Please note that we will be setting up an emergency number for staff to contact us if they do become ill or come into contact with anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of Coronavirus. This number will be released in the next few days, in the meantime, staff should ring their manager or HR directly on 024 77655250.
