Meet Dayem, a third-year Global Business Management student and our LGBTQIA+ and Allies Society President.
“When I began my studies at Coventry University London, there was no CUSU and there was very little student life on Campus. Since the Arrive of The Students’ Union on campus, I have seen a shift in the way students think. They feel like they can actively make a change and improve the university for just themselves but also for the students after them. I got involved recently by taking the President’s position on the newly formed LGBTQIA+ and Allies Society as I could see that it was needed on campus to build a community of students and a support network for students from such a variety of backgrounds, races and religions and we all have a different story. I’ve been able to meet such an interesting group of students and people through the range of events that regularly occur during term time and they’re so varied it allows all students to get involved. It’s not just drinking and partying – there’s a focus on community and togetherness, making every individual feel welcome”
