Researching, Advancing and Inspiring Student Engagement (RAISE) is a community organised network for students and staff of higher education to theorise, debate, research and share practice relating to student engagement in higher education.
Applications are open for two Student Committee Member positions (term of office 1 year) to join their leadership committee and they are keen to receive applications from students who can guide our activities during COVID-19. By supporting and facilitating the concepts, culture and practice of students and staff working in partnership, RAISE is an active network, meeting regularly in Special Interest Groups, an annual conference each September and several other activities such as a journal and reading group.
As a Student Committee Member, you will be expected to attend three online/face to face meetings across the year and our annual conference in September 2021 at the University of Lincoln. The management of RAISE is vested in a committee of stakeholders from across Higher Education, meeting as necessary but no less than three times a year. Student Committee Members will have all their travel expenses paid by the organisation when in person but they may also be held by electronic means. Applicants must be able to attend the next three committee meetings on 25th January 2021, 12th April 2021 and 5th July 2021.
To apply for the position, write a 250-500 word expression of interest outlining why you would like to apply for post, why you are interested in Student Engagement and what relevant experience you have, by midnight on Sunday 25th October 2020. The applications will be considered by the RAISE Committee on Monday 26th October and applicants will be notified by Friday 30th October. RAISE will not discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, colour, ethnic or national origins, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief, marital status or age.
Applications should be submitted to email@example.com by midnight on Sunday 25h October.
