Coventry University Karting Team A have been crowned champions of the British University Karting Championships (BUKC) for 2018/19 season, restoring their position as the best University Karting team in the country.
After 6 rounds of the BUKC season, the final meet was based at Coventry’s home track of Whilton Mill in Daventry. Coventry’s season so far saw them winning rounds 3 and rounds 5 of the Championship, with a 3rd place in round 7 at Whilton.
The Championship was to be decided in the final round of the season between Coventry A and Oxford Brookes B. Despite a spin off in one of the heats and some high-octane action, the Coventry A team of Rayaan Williams, George Bridson, Neil Vincent and Joe Fowler were crowned Champions by 1 point ahead of Oxford Brookes B.
This season has been an outstanding season for the team, with them only coming in 20th position during last year’s campaign. This season has now clearly established Coventry as a force to be reckoned with on the track again and the team will look to hold onto their title in the 2019/20 season.
Great work guys!
