About Me

Hi, I’m Indica, and I’m your Vice President for Welfare and Inclusion. I am available to support you in any welfare, housing, inclusion, or safety and advice issues. I have recently finished my undergraduate Psychology degree and have hopes of being a Forensic Psychologist. I spent my time at University as part of the Psychology society committee, as well as being a student rep for my course.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting and reading. I am also a huge fan of 70’s and 80’s rock music! My biggest passions are improving access to welfare services and providing safe and fairly priced accommodation for all students. I am also fighting to give more power back to students through democratic processes.

Being VP Welfare and Inclusion

Indica helps provide support and representation to raises awareness of volunteering opportunities, safer living, wellbeing, mental health and care leavers across all CU campuses and online.

More than 2,000 students use SU Advice every year and a similar number are involved with the SU’s Student Life department. She sits on the University's Student Equality and Diversity Committee and works closely with the Student Advice Centre.

Indica's Updates

    • Asking the university to increase funding into the university's mental health services to allow for an expansion of the number of counsellors and to shorten waiting lists as well as lowering accommodation fees and ensuring that contracts work for students.
    • Ask the university to publish their annual spending and allow students to have a democratic say in where their tuition fees go.
    • Continue to lobby for equity and diversity amongst all aspects of university life- especially in volunteering opportunities.
    • Other things I am passionate about include starting a CoppaFeel group at Coventry University (campus advocates for the breast cancer charity) as well as embracing the incredibly well-run rep system at Coventry University, encouraging more people to join, and regularly liaising with the faculty and campus officers to make Coventry University better for all.
