Can You See Me Now is an arts activism project challenging perceptions of disability.

Less than 8% of people with disabilities in the UK require the use of a wheelchair

Accessible signage has used the wheelchair icon for more than 50 years. For people who do not use a wheelchair or have invisible disabilities this can create challenges.

Can You See Me Now will increase understanding of invisible disabilities and create an open call for a new accessible icon.

The Competition

Design a new accessible icon that better represents the reality of people with disabilities, visible and invisible.

Prize include £500 of Amazon vouchers, studio time with a professional design agency to develop your idea, a gallery showcase, and the chance to see your design in use on Coventry University campuses.

Invisible Disabilities

Understand the nature of invisible disability and the assumptions you might be making about people with disabilities.
