About Aviation Society
Who are we?
We are a group of Aviation Management BSc students with a keen interest in flying, aircraft and aviation! Nevertheless, over the past year, we have grown to more than that with students joining us from all manner of courses such as Aeronautical Engineering and Business Management to name a few.
What do we do?
We provide students with a social space to share news, events and job opportunities relating to Aviation. We organise regular events, from guest lectures, flight simulations and quiz nights to podcasts and field trips, both domestic and international.
Why should you join?
To access an educational environment where students can share aspects and difficulties of their respective courses, learn from each other through mutual assistance, and enjoy your time at Coventry University while meeting like-minded students.
What have we done in the past?
The types of events the society have hosted in the past:
- Nights out with VIP treatment and discounts.
- Quiz nights where members could win a prize.
- Online quizzes to provide an opportunity for members to test out their industry knowledge.

The Committee
President:
Denijs Abele – abeled@uni.coventry.ac.uk
Leads the whole society by overseeing the committee and setting a clear direction.
Vice-President:
Martyna Rosak – rosakm@uni.coventry.ac.uk
Provides support to the President and helps in both overseeing the committee and helping shape the direction for the society. They also create and maintains the society’s brands image as well as manage all social media accounts.
Inclusions Officer:
Stelios Stylianou – stylianous@uni.coventry.ac.uk
In a time of a global pandemic and uncertainty; The Inclusions Officer will ensure all risks are minimised by following the latest university regulations and government legislation to ensure all physical events pose minimal risk to society members. In addition, Provide oversight on all society events, both digital and physical, to ensure inclusivity for all members and ensure all cultures, religions and values are considered in decision making.
Treasurer:

Creates a fiscal policy to fund all society events adequately.
Social Media Officer:
Matthew Lear – learm3@uni.coventry.ac.uk
Oversees the societies social media accounts and replies to all incoming communications.
Brand Ambassador:
Arun Aujla – aujlaa@uni.coventry.ac.uk
Sets out the societies marketing direction and works together with the Social Media Officer to send out frequent updates to all our members.
