About

Our aims and objectives of our bible study is to build a family of friends whilst spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this by holding weekly meetings every Thursday. Our meetings are a mixture of socialising and bible studies; and within that we discuss relatable topics that we face in everyday life, such as love, forgiveness, friends, family etc. This involves debates, discussions and inquiries on everyday life which people are free to ask during the session.

1) Our aims and objectives of our bible study is to build a family of friends whilst spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this by holding weekly meetings every Thursday. 2)  We provide a safe environment where we talk about issues in the media and opinions without being judged. Before we start our bible study we have a news segment where we talk about what is going on in the world locally and internationally. We have praise and worship, we share testimonies and prayer.

3) Our bible study is very unique in the sense that it is very interactive; normally the setting of a typical bible study is a church setting where others sit and just listen to a speaker. At JAM everyone Is able to contribute. We ask questions during the word segment which gets everyone involved. We also set up scenarios up and ask questions that are related to biblical stories and also relatable to modern day situations. For example, what do you see in society today that makes a Christian want to give up on Christianity?'

4) Because of our interactions everyone is given a chance to lead.

5) You do not have to be from a specific denomination, background, race, gender, religion etc. in order to partake and enjoy. We are very inclusive as we like to learn different perspectives and learn from one another.

6) Our bible study also aims to build connections and networks with other students through our weekly meetings from different year groups, ages and area of study. By doing this it also provides support academically as well as spiritually. At the end of every bible study we stand in a circle and put our arms around each other for the closing prayer, this signifies unity and we say 'I've got your back and you've got mine'.

7) We aim to put on different events during the academic year in order to get every student on Coventry University campus involved such as praise nights, going out to eat/bowling etc. while still holding onto our message of the love of Jesus Christ.

8) We are non-judgemental, our dynamics and setting is very relaxed. we sit in a circle to show intimacy.

9) our leadership teams consists of different Christians from different backgrounds which shows our diversity and inclusiveness

10) This bible study is by Coventry Students, for Coventry students, and run by Coventry students.

11) Our unique name of abbreviation aims to make JAM relatable for young people; for people to ask what is JAM which is a way of letting students know about different bible studies on campus.
