Physiotherapy

The Physiotherapy Society 2018/2019 is a student-led society. We aim to bring together members of the BSc Physiotherapy Degree Course, as well as anyone with a keen interest in physiotherapy or those who want to integrate with another healthcare course.

Objectives

  • Increase and engage the passion and professionalism of students interested in physiotherapy through creating a support network where they can enhance their knowledge and their skills.
  • Provide a strong network support for students by creating and communicating physio related topics via social media, seminars and workshops with the support of academic staff.
  • Create links with the National Governing Body to help support students through their studies by offering advice and guidance on the different opportunities available for them.
  • Support a range of health charities, encourage students to give something back.
  • Assist with extra-curricular learning opportunities.

What we offer:

  • Social events throughout the year, with a variety of themes and venues, occasionally hosted alongside other societies.
  • Guest speaker events, on a variety of topics relating to physiotherapy and healthcare generally. Additionally, there will be opportunities to ask questions and discuss relevant topics with these speakers.
  • Professionally relevant courses, such as sports massage and taping.
  • Updates following committee meetings to keep members briefed about what we are planning.

Membership Fee: £5.00 for the whole academic year.
