Who are we?
Coventry University Equestrian is a diverse and welcoming club. We are always looking for new members of all abilities to join; whether you want to compete in our teams, are completely new to riding or want to join as a social member, we pride ourselves on being inclusive to all.
What do we do?
We ride at Holly Riding School, which has a wide range of horses and ponies for all abilities. We have a BUCS and a friendly team who compete four times a year, against three other universities, all taking it in turns to host. We also compete against Warwick University in the annual Varsity competition. We also offer a range of non-riding activities.
Why should you join?
We are an extremely friendly and inviting club that welcomes anyone to come and join. Our main ethos is to include everyone and have fun. You’ll be sure to learn something new during your time with us. We are a small club and become more like a family throughout the year, with members staying friends for years even after they leave university.
What have we done in the past?
- Tiri Budd our 2018/19 President, individually qualified for BUCS Regionals
- Have two competitive teams who continue to improve every year
- Provided our members with polocrosse taster sessions
- Held a Christmas competition for our beginners, to showcase their skills
- Raised money for charities such as cancer research
We are also proud to announce that Lettuce Lettings have sponsered the Equestrian club for a second year running. Lettuce Lettings offers private student accomodation, from rooms and apartments to houses, across Coventry with easy access to the university campus. Awards and Recognition
We have been presented with a number of awards. In 2020 we were nominated for the most improved club of the year. We also were awarded silver in the sports excellence awards for community and performance and will work towards improving these awards to gold this year.
