Over The Wall provides free of charge residential activity camps for children and teenagers living with serious health challenges.

Activity Leader

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Activity Leaders design and deliver activities in certain areas including Drama, Sports and Games, Discovery, Arts and Crafts or Music. The activity sessions are designed to create safe environments for the Campers to achieve their goals and reflect on their accomplishments.

Hours details

Over The Wall camps are residential over a range of 3-5 nights. Our Volunteers are required to attend up to 2 nights before our Campers arrive for training, team building & preparation.

Training available

Volunteers receive up to 2 days training including topics such as safeguarding, behaviour empowerment techniques, information about how to implement Therapeutic Recreation, along with activities designed to develop their team building skills. We also cover Over The Wall Policies and Procedures and details about the activities they will be involved in during camp.

Location

Our camps are held at high quality locations in Scotland, the Midlands and the South of England.

Transport details

Volunteers have to make their own way to camp, however we provide transport to and from the nearest train station at specific times.

Support

At all camps Over The Wall provide around 6 staff members who form the 'staff support team'. The Support Team are on hand to offer emotional and practical support throughout camp to volunteers. Volunteers will also have a 'Team Leader' as part of their volunteer team who will also offer support.

Expenses

We do not pay travel expenses for volunteers but all food and accommodation is provided for the duration of camp.
