This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

We have volunteering opportunities for individuals with an interest in Horticulture . The role of Volunteers in the Nursery is vital to the experiences of the Citizens who attend the Nursery and also the staff who work there and the public who visit the facilities.

Kings Hill Nurseries  provides  training and  work experience  for people with a broad spectrum of Learning Disabilities( Citizens) within Horticulture (Kings Hill Nurseries), various Catering Operations at the Four Seasons Function Room on site.

Working with people with Learning Disabilities is central to the culture of the business and we work in teams together with colleagues to help maximise each Citizen’s potential .

3 minimum

Hours details

The hours are flexible Monday - Friday .

Training available

We offer full induction training which includes Health and Safety and Manual Handling .

Volunteers will contribute their time with experienced staff together with Citizens . The Citizens have the opportunity to spend time with volunteers from a diverse background and wider demographics .

Transport details

Own transport is preferred however King Hill does potentially have access to a minibus service which could be used for " Make a difference Days.

Time commitment

This can be variable however in order to get the most from the experience a minimum of 3 hours per week would be beneficial. Make a difference days would be a commitment of half a day or a full day .


A volunteer coordinator is employed to support the volunteer process form start to finish . In addition all staff at the Kings Hill Nursery will provide assistance and support on an ongoing basis .


It is unlikely that expenses will be incurred in this role however there is an expenses Policy .
