City Host Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

City Hosts will be the face of Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture until the end of May 2022, helping to ensure a positive experience for visitors, spectators and performers. They will be capable, committed, inspirational volunteers welcoming visitors to the city, helping with wayfinding and recommending what’s on and where to visit. City Hosts will build on the proud history of volunteering already in Coventry.

Tasks:

Provide a friendly and welcoming face for visitors.

Guide visitors and event spectators.

Provide information about the city and events.

Support areas of displays and artwork.

Hours per week

Minimum 2-3 hours. Flexible to suit you.

Hours details

2-3 hour shifts depending on event. You can choose the shifts you want to do via an online portal. You can also sign up with a friend if they register too and volunteer on shifts together.

Training available

All City Hosts will be provided with training before being able to volunteer. The informative modules will cover everything you need to feel confident in your role as a City Host, including: · UK City of Culture values · City Host behaviours · Expectations for the role · Safety and safeguarding · Get limited edition Coventry 2021 uniform. All completed training elements will be recorded and certified.
