The Board of Trustees is legally responsible for CUSU and therefore ensuring that CUSU complies with relevant legal frameworks. They also ensure sound financial decision making and set the strategy for CUSU alongside Student Council.
Professor Ian McNay
Professor McNay is Emeritus Professor of Higher Education and Management at Greenwich University. He has been published widely, and regularly acts as a consultant on Higher Education issues across Europe, including work in Romania, Ukraine and Lithuania.
Pat is the former Coventry University Chief Librarian and is now engaged in community work in the Leicester area, including broadcasting regular shows on community radio station Hermitage FM.
Tim has run his own graphic design and communications business for the last 20 years. An alumnus of Coventry University, Tim is extensively involved in the redevelopment of Coventry City Centre.
Jane has over 20 years of experience as an employment solicitor, advising employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, from strategic reorganisations to routine transactional advice. Jane was a partner at private practice law firms and from 2009 to 2015 was the head of Employment for Weightmans LLP in the East Midlands as well as having had responsibility for all operational matters as regional office head at Weightmans’ Leicester office. Jane is a University Governor.
Val is Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Academic Staff Representative on the Board of Trustees. She is currently Principal Lecturer in Health and Life Science at Coventry University as well as being a University Governor. Following BSc and PhD degrees at the University of Liverpool Dr Val Cox held Research Fellow posts at the University of Leeds Medical School and a lectureship in Biosciences at The University of Durham. She joined Coventry University in 1999 and for 10 years was Head of Biomolecular and Sport Sciences.
