Introduce yourself

Heyyy, I’m Emmanuella aka Emma. I study BSc Applied Psychology and I am in my 3rd year. I am very passionate about the student experience on campus and hopefully will be able to improve it this year.

What is a Campus Officer?

The Campus Officer is the main person who speaks for all students at CU Scarborough. Every year students vote to choose the Campus Officer, and they talk on behalf of all students in different places like the University, Studetns' Union, and the local community.

I’m here to ensure that every student is represented and has the opportunity to shape their university experience. I do this by working with Course Reps, student groups, and Students’ Union and University staff – but any student can get in touch to ask a question or tell me an idea.

What are you going to do in the role?

I created a manifesto detailing what I would like to achieve in the role. I have four key priorities:

International Student Support:
I believe that international students deserve the best possible experience while studying at CU Scarborough and this is very important to me as I am an international student also. To achieve a much better student experience I will continue to demand for the resources to help international students settle in,

Support for Students with Dependents:
As most of us know it is very difficult to balance academic and personal responsibilities, most especially for students with dependents. Over the year, I will work to ensure that these students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

Advocacy for Disabled Students: All students should have equal access to education, regardless of their circumstances . Through the year I will ensure that our university has proper accommodations for disabled students, this also invisible disabilities, such as mental health conditions, to ensure that they receive the support they need to succeed.

A Better Student Life for All: A strong and vibrant student community is essential for a positive university experience. applying my knowledge gained from volunteering with Your Students' Union, I will work to better the student community on campus .

How can I get in touch?

I am here to advocate and improve university life for you. I would love to hear about your personal experiences at CU Scarborough, so please feel free to reach out and have a chat with me about what could be improved or what we should do more of. You can get in touch with me and the rest of the SU team by emailing scarborough.su@coventry.ac.uk.
