Hello everyone! I am Julia, your current Activities Officer. I have been a part of the university since 2019, so I have gotten to know how our university works in many ways. I have held many different positions during my time here, but one of them that made the biggest change was being a part of the Politics Society. I joined the society in my first year after meeting the committee at the Society Fair. I truly believe that going to the Society Fair is the best thing you can do as a new student. You get to meet so many interesting groups of people, and you can pick and choose anything that interests you. Even though Politics Society sounded a bit intimidating because I was and still am not a political expert, the beauty of Politics Society is that, with Coventry's diverse demographic, it is fascinating to hear the different opinions people have according to their background.

Coming to a new country is always scary in many ways, and finding out that I am one of thousands here at Coventry always made me feel better. Over the years, I have been able to meet people from many places across the world. Many of them have become friends that will stay for life, which has the good benefit of having a lot of places to stay when traveling. I can truly say that societies had the biggest impact on shaping my university journey. Without going to that initial Society Fair in 2019, I would never have become a part of the Politics society, which has led me to become your current Activities Officer. I encourage everyone to maybe take that one scary step of stepping outside their comfort zone, but believe it will be worth it in the end.
