About the Campaign

We are launching the Engage to Achieve campaign and we would love to hear from you on your experience studying this year whether fully online or blended with some face to face learning.

For most of us, learning online might be something that is new and we would like to know how you have been getting on and if you have any top tips for your fellow students on how to get the best out of learning online. As a little gift, every student who submits either a short 1 minute max video or a short 500 word blog post, will be entered into a prize draw to win:

Ways to enter:

Video

  1. Submit a short 1 minute max video sharing your experience learning online with you top tips to help other students get the best out their learning experience!
  2. Complete this short form giving us permission to feature your video on the Students' Union and Coventry University website and social media platforms. Click here to access the form.
  3. Submit your video to ac8515@coventry.ac.uk using free and easy file transfer services such as OneDrive or wetransfer.com (but be sure to copy and paste the link and email it to us directly from your student email account to avoid it getting flagged by our spam filters!)
  4. Please note you cannot enter the prize draw without all of the above steps being carried out.

Blog

  1. Write a short (500 word maximum) blog sharing your experience learning online with you top tips to help other students get the best out their learning experience!
  2. Feel free to also send us a picture of yourself which we will upload to our website along with the blog, it'll put a face to your words for the readers!
  3. Complete this short form giving us permission to feature your blog on the Students' Union and Coventry University website and social media platforms. Click here to access the form.
  4. Submit your blog to ac8515@coventry.ac.uk
  5. Please note you cannot enter the prize draw without all of the above steps being carried out.

This kitbag will give you all the tools and knowledge you need to successfully get started with your studies. 

From downloading Microsoft office to planning your workload, it’s there to help all students feel empowered with technology and become more digitally savvy!

Peer Mentoring

For further support, there are many programmes now available for you to connect with students for anything from finding your way around campus, to just talking to someone who knows how it really feels to be student at this time or for advice on how to study and learn more effectively. 

You can either download the VYGO app from the apple or playstore or visit http://coventry.vygoapp.com/ for direct desktop log through single sign on. There are hundreds of student mentors ready and eager to help support others!

Coventry.domains

Every student of the Coventry University now has free access to generate their very own web hosting space whilst at University.  They can get started by visiting: https://coventry.domains/students/ where there are also tools to help learn the skills needed to create an awesome website https://coventry.domains/support/

LinkedIn Learning

Every student has free access to LinkedIn Learning, this is a great resource full of learning paths, course and videos covering a whole range of skill areas.  Students can upskill, learn new skills or simply use to reinforce knowledge a topic they are currently learning. 

To get started they simply need to activate their account by visiting this website.

Digital Badges

In development are lots of different badges and pathways to recognise not only those who are taking on new roles and exceeding but also those who are pro-actively pushing themselves by reaching out for support and developing personally, as this takes courage too.

Your univiersty has been trying to help with is that no student should feel left behind or demotivated through not knowing how to engage to technology – the tools above aim to support everyone to not only feel more confidence in themselves but on a level playing field when entering the (virtual) classroom or any situation.
