Who am I?
My name is Vanessa and I am currently a Placement Student on the Electronic Engineering course. I have been a Course Rep since 1st year and was an IT Senior Service Rep in 2nd Year. During my time at the University I have experienced issues with fellow students in both CEM courses and the Service areas; I have decided to run for CEM School Rep so that I can use the experience I have within the Reps System to help solve these issues.
What will I do?
I will aim to:
- Promote the interests of the CEM School in Faculty and School Meetings
- Network with Senior Course Reps, Senior Service Reps and Course Reps to ensure all academic issues and feedback is raised to School and Faculty Staff
- Publicise which Flying Start Items students will receive and suggest future improvements
- Look into extending the ECG-35 Lab opening hours for final-year projects
- Publicise work and events of the academic societies in the school
- Increase the engagement with the New Wizards showcase event
- Bring back the CEM Suggestion Box - students can give anonymous feedback in order to voice their opinions
