Candidate for the position of School of Art and Design Education Rep

SHERRIE EDGAR

Sherrie is experienced when it comes to student leadership, having been a campus improvement officer and a student ambassador. For Sherrie the best part of representing the school of art and design is supporting students and staff and building strong relationships, making positive changes. Sherrie is friendly and is on the level of students, staying relatable to them with a flexible approach. Sherrie meets the needs of the job and has been active in many other activities in Coventry for Source Media, CUSU exhibitions and FAH open days. She most wants to help improve the experience of students at Coventry, making sure that they are always provided with as much help as possible when it comes to issues of resources, communication and signposting. Sherrie’s biggest objective is to create a 24/7 creative suite for art and design students. She puts emphasis on the art and design faculty as a whole, in her view, “creativity is a force to be reckoned with, workings of our human minds and our identity”. This in her view is particularly important in the run-up to Coventry being the 2021 City of Culture.
