School Rep, Personal Statement 2018-19

Currently, as a student rep, I feel I have been able to develop experience throughout this year. Although, I'm a first year which could be a disadvantage I feel I have been able to grow in confidence and be able to speak upon my course mates, and state any issues they have and put them forward so they are addressed.

The prior experience I have had is through project management and being able to lead a team, being sympathetic and help mediate issues among others.

I think I'm suited to this role as subjects I mentioned in student rep meetings I have made sure are followed through in order to reassure my course mates that their voices are being heard. I'm dedicated, and currently known as the workaholic. I tend to make sure as a student rep that communication between me, lectures and other students is there.

However, communication within our Art school needs some drastic improvements, and as the school rep, I wish to be the one to help improve this so students can understand what happens when and don't feel so confused.

If anyone knows me I can come across as quite down to earth with a hint of assertiveness, however, compromising I will often see if there is a solution that would best fit both parties, so I think a quality such as this is essential when discussing improvements of the school with staff and students.

I can't say I'll be perfect and I can't promise instant changes and give you everything you could possibly desire, however, I can put your views forward and help make the students of the Arts School voices are heard and acknowledged. What I can promise is that I will do my utmost best, and if you feel you need someone to speak to about any issues, I can be that person.
