Life Science School Rep Personal Statement
I am Duncan Hookey, a 2nd year Human Biosciences Student a former IT Senior Service Rep and the 2017/18 HLS Faculty Rep. The reason I am running for school rep is to continue my Faculty wide work from this year but be able to focus more on the school I am a part of. I also intend to use my vast experience of the Reps system to smooth the transition from the large BMS forum into smaller ones, a change that should help each course in the school be heard.
The experience I bring to the role is my 2 years of work representing students on a faculty level, and more recently on an international level where I represented Coventry University students at a European University Association meeting in Malmo Sweden. I also greatly enjoy supporting and building up Course Reps to help them gain more confidence and experience enabling them to make the changes they wish to see in the university. I hope that you will vote for me, so that I can continue the work I started as Faculty Rep and really help build and improve the School of Life Science.
