My name is Chi Ip, currently in my 2nd year in Mechanical Engineering. I have been a MMA
course rep for one year and been constantly in touched with the senior reps and school reps
from my school as well as others to discuss issues and potential solutions to improve our
faculty as a whole.
As a School Rep for MAE, I would like to listen to any feedback from students across the
whole school and to take necessary actions to deal with the issues with the Faculty Deans
and MAE staffs; the current problems that I am expecting to solve for next year include:
• Standardisation for personal tutors’ marking/ expectation from students during Lab
presentations/ Practical test day
• Late lectures in the evening
• Availability of computers
• Short tutorial period
• Lack of industry engineering software teachings for MMA students.
• Usability of Echo 360 from lecturers
My aim would be not only to solve problems for my school, but as well as to cooperate with
other reps across the whole faculty to build a true community to benefit all the students to
their best satisfactions.
