Childrens Activity Support Group Helper

To support staff in the provision of activities and learning opportunities for children and young people at our baby and toddler time sessions across the Warwick District Children and Family Centres The centres run a variety of sessions where children along with their parents/carers can come and enjoy playing and learning together in a safe environment. Some of the key activities you would be supporting alongside staff with would be - Help set up the room in preparation for the session To support the member of staff to facilitate planned activities which could include messy play (painting/glueing) ,where parents need support with accessing resources, supporting story/singing time To help welcome and settle families attending the group especially if it is their first visit To help with preparation of healthy snacks/drinks To help with the clearing up and tidying away at the end of each session.

Minimal 2 hours per week

Hours details

The baby and toddler time sessions run weekly across the Warwick District Children and Family Centres , preferable would be a commitment of 2 hours per week but there can be flexibility for a volunteer who could only commit to i.e twice a month

Transport details

The 3 children and family centres are located across Leamington Spa and Warwick and some outreach provision in Kenilworth so any volunteer would need to be able to get to the centres , there is bus services that runs across the Warwick District for people that wouldn't have the use of a car.

Time commitment

We ask for a minimum of 3 months commitment


All volunteers will receive regular one to one support & supervision Volunteers will be included and invited to team meetings/team away days Volunteers will be kept updated and informed about local and national news/changes within Barnardos


Reasonable out of pocket expenses for lunch and travel are reimbursed to volunteers, these must be verified with receipts, tickets and if a volunteer drives mileage records and the volunteer must have business insurance on their policy as part of their car insurance to claim any expenses.
