Camp Clinical Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Nurses, doctors and paramedics have a critical role to play at an Over The Wall Camp, to provide safe and effective care, whilst joining in the mischief and magic of camp. Can you help?

Clinical Volunteer  

Nurses 

Requirements: 

Registered child, adult or learning disabilities 

Qualified for at least 18 months (Child Nurse) 

Qualified for at least 2 years (Adult/LD Nurse) 

Registered with the NMC 

Holds professional indemnity insurance 

Holds valid, current life support training 

 

Doctors 

Requirements: 

ST2 or above in Paediatrics, GP or A&E 

Must have Paediatric experience 

Registered with the GMC 

Holds professional indemnity insurance 

Holds valid, current life support training 

 

Paramedics 

Requirements: 

Qualified Paramedic 

Post registration experience 2 years 

Registered with HCPC 

Holds professional indemnity insurance with College of Paramedics 

Holds valid, current life support training

Hours details

Over The Wall camps are residential over a range of 2-5 nights. Our Volunteers are required to attend the day before our Campers arrive for training, team building & preparation.

Training available

Volunteers receive a full day of training including topics such as safeguarding, behaviour empowerment techniques, information about how to implement Therapeutic Recreation, along with activities designed to develop their team building skills. We also cover Over The Wall Policies and Procedures and details about the activities they will be involved in during camp.

Transport details

Volunteers must make their own travel arrangements to Camp, but we do offer pick ups and drop off from the local train station at specific times.

Over The Wall camps are residential over a range of 2-5 nights.

Support

At all camps Over The Wall provide around 6 staff members who form the 'staff support team', including the Nursing Team. The Support Team are on hand to offer emotional and practical support throughout camp to volunteers.

Expenses

We do not pay travel expenses for Volunteers but all food and accommodation is provided for the duration of camp.
