About Book Club

Who are we?

We're Book Club! We invite students from all over the university, regardless of your course, to participate in reading a book monthly.

What do we do?

We read a book every month, meet up to discuss it, then pick a new one :) We meet on alternate Wednesdays from 4-6pm.

Why should you join?

We're a group of book lovers looking to connect with like-minded people. We also host socials and events, so don't worry if you're too busy to read; reading isn't a requirement if you just want to hang out. Tea and snacks provided!

What have we done in the past?

Books we've read in the past include

  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (October 2021: Horror)
  • Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (February 2020: Romance)
  • My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite (December 2019: Goodreads Nominees 2019)
  • The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (November 2019: Banned Books)
