About LINKS

Who are we?

We are a first aid society here to teach anyone at Coventry Uni how to administer essential first aid.

What do we do?

We explain and demonstrate a multitude of first aid skills and then have our members put them into practice. We are able to train students to become first aiders with St John Ambulance where they can use the first aid skills they have learnt in the field, if they wish.

Why should you join?

In our society you will learn essential first aid knowledge which could potentially allow you to save a life one day. As well as this, it is a great opportunity to learn first aid casually whilst surrounded by friends. We have lots of social time so LINKS is great for making friends whilst also learning something very useful. Not only this, being first aid trained is incredibly helpful to have on your CV and will give you an advantage when looking for jobs in the future.

What have we done in the past?

In the past we have successfully had groups of students train to be first aiders with St John Ambulance. From here, we have seen our students go out and administer first aid in the field at big events such as Godiva festival and the Coventry half marathon - as well as a multitude of other events.

On the social side of things, year after year our society welcomes new members and we quickly become a group of friends. New and old members mix allowing a familiar and educational environment for all students. Last year we carried out socials such as bowling, mini golf and a meal together for Christmas dinner. This year we hope to have just as many exciting social opportunities arise.
